I CAN’T FIND MY WIRELESS NETWORK (WIFI) LISTED IN THE TIVOLI APP
Make sure your Wireless Access Point or Wireless Router is powered on and connected to the internet. Verify that your WiFi band is set to the standard 2.4GHz. The ART system does not support 5GHz. Make sure your device is connected to your Wireless Network. Close the Tivoli Audio App and then re-open the App. You should be able to see the Wireless Network now.
I DON’T SEE APPLE MUSIC OR GOOGLE PLAY LISTED IN THE APP
Not a problem! Set your Cube/Orb to Bluetooth mode. Pair your media device via Bluetooth to your desired Cube/Orb. If you want to hear the music on more than one speaker, use the Bluetooth over WiFi feature.
I HAVE SET UP THE SPEAKERS, BUT I CAN’T FIND THE CUBE/ORB LISTED IN THE APP
Make sure the LED in the back of the speaker is a solid green color. Power off the unit by holding down the power button on the back of the unit until the LED turns red, then press the power button again to turn the speaker on. Restart the App and once the LED on speaker is solid green again, look for the speaker again in the “Play New” window. If green LED is flashing, refer to Troubleshooting tip #1 or #2.
I’M PLAYING SPOTIFY, BUT I CANNOT SEE WHERE IT SAYS “AVAILABLE DEVICES”
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE APP Make sure you are using a Spotify Premium account. For more information, refer to the Spotify Connect guide that accompanies your speaker or visit Spotify.com. If you are using a Spotify Premium account, make sure the speaker is connected to your Wireless Network, and restart your Spotify App.
I’M PLAYING SPOTIFY, BUT THE SPEAKER IS COMING THROUGH MY PHONE
Open the Spotify App. While playing a song, at the bottom of the App, click where it says “Available Devices”. Select name of the master speaker of your Tivoli Cube/Orb/Group and the sound will switch to the Tivoli system. Refer to the Spotify Connect guide that accompanies your speaker for more information, as well as your Cube/Orb Quick Setup Guide and Online Manual.
MY CUBE/ORB IS ON AND CONNECTED BUT NO SOUND IS COMING FROM THE SYSTEM
Increase the volume on your Cube/Orb using the + and – volume buttons located on the back of the unit. You can also check the volume on the Tivoli App. Next check the media volume on your phone. Make sure it is turned on and try raising the volume. Make sure nothing is touching the top of your Cube/Orb on the touch-sensitive area that may be pausing the system. Pause and then play your audio source, as your wireless network may have had issues affecting all of your devices.
MY SPEAKER IS NON-RESPONSIVE
Perform a factory reset. Hold the Setup and Party Mode buttons on the speaker at the same time for 3 seconds. The LED will turn red. Press the Power button. The speaker has now been restored to factory default settings. If it is still non-responsive, remove the power source (either battery or adapter) and then re-connect the power source.
THE LED IS BLINKING BLUE
Your speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Refer to the Bluetooth pairing directions in either the Quick Setup Guide or the Online Manual.
THE LED IS BLINKING GREEN FAST
Your speaker has not been set up for a wireless network and it is in setup mode. Refer to the setup directions in either the Quick Setup Guide or the Online Manual.
THE LED IS BLINKING GREEN SLOWLY
Your speaker is having trouble connecting to a network it was previously set up for. Check to make sure the network is still active. If the network is still active, try turning off the speaker and turning it back on. If that does not work, perform a factory reset (hold down the Setup and Party Mode buttons for 3 seconds) and repeat the setup process for the speaker.
THE MUSIC SOUNDS UNBALANCED THROUGH MY SPEAKER
To check balance, open the Tivoli App, select Group and select Speakers. Select the speaker(s) you are using. If you are using only one speaker, verify that the speaker is set to Stereo. If you are using two speakers, confirm the volume levels are the same and that they are both set to Stereo or Left/Right if you are listening to them as a stereo pair. If you are using more than two speakers, make sure all Left and Right speakers are set up in pairs (for example, do not have 2 Lefts and 1 Right).
If you are getting a lot of interference using your Tivoli radio, there are a few things to think about before considering an additional antenna or service. Follow these steps to avoid noise interference.
The following are possible sources of interference. See how your radio interacts with them.
- Dimmer switch
- Fluorescent light
- Touch lamps (even when turned off)
- Automatic on and off night lights
- Outdoor lights that turn on automatically
- Electronic bug and pest controllers
- A light bulb that is about to burn out
- A faulty electrical switch
- A nearby TV
- Blinking bulbs of all kinds, such as Christmas lights
- Scanners of all types
- Electric blankets
- Smoke detectors that run on AC (battery operated is OK)
- Wifi router
- Microwave Oven
Please move the radio away from these devices and check if you still have issues.
Try to eliminate the interference at its source. Here's a list of possible solutions:
- Turn off the offending device.
- Try a battery operated radio to see if the interference is coming in from the AC line, through the air or both.
- Turn off the circuit breakers one at a time to see if the noise stops. If it does, then you know it's caused by something in your house, and you'll know which circuit it is on.
- Use a battery operated radio as a direction finder. Turn it until the noise is loudest and the front or the back of the radio will be pointing toward the noise origin.
- Carry a radio around the neighbourhood and see if you can find the origin of the noise.
- Ask your neighbours if they have problems with FM/AM radio noise.
- If a power pole is suspected, call the power company and they will check the area and possibly clean the insulators. Dirty power pole insulators are sometimes a cause of difficult to find radio interference.
- If you have a hum in your receiver from AC noise, sometimes grounding can reduce the hum greatly.
The supplied FM antenna, though basic, should provide better reception in cases where the internal antenna does not suffice. Remember to change the rear antenna switch from internal to external when using an external antenna.
For optimal performance, place the radio and/or antenna near a window or outside wall. Make sure the power cord and antenna are not bundled together or near each other.
Yes. Placing your radio in a cabinet, bookcase, near walls/counters or other hard surfaces will artificially inflate the bass. Some users have reported that placing several layers of tissue beneath the port reduces bass. Placement can also affect reception.
Regular dusting should suffice. If you must use a wax, a liquid polish is best only if used sparingly. Spray-on waxes are not recommended. Please keep in mind that the cabinet is real wood so it will darken over time.
Stereo headphones can be used with all of our radios; they use the standard 3.5mm (1/8 inch) connector. If you are using headphones with the Model One radio you should use stereo headphones, as a monaural ear piece will not work. We recommend using our Radio Silenz headphones.
You can check if your headphones are stereo by the number of blue rings around the tip; two rings indicates stereo. Headphones rated at 32 ohms will work best with our radios.
You can connect an iPod, MP3 player or portable audio device to one of our radios via a 3.5mm (1/8 inch) stereo mini to mini cable. In order to do so, you will need to connect this cable from the headphone jack on your walkman, portable MP3 or CD player to the Aux input on the radio.
With the PAL and certain other models, there is no Aux switch. With these radios you'll need to physically plug the device into the "AUX" jack on the back of the radio when you want to listen to it. This will cut the signal from the tuner to the speaker and let you play your connected device, regardless of the band to which your radio is set. To listen to the radio again, you'll need to disconnect the device from the back of the unit.
Yes, but only the self-amplified, stereo type can be used in conjunction with the radio's headphone output (These are often referred to as "Multi-media" speakers).
No, we do not recommend buying a 3rd party PAL Battery. Tivoli’s battery is custom-designed specifically for the PAL following extensive testing. We cannot guarantee 3rd party accessories for safety or compatibility. Any damage caused by use of 3rd party products will not be covered under the warranty. Authorised PAL batteries are sold directly through Tivoli Audio and our Authorised dealers exclusively.
Most of our table radios use the same analogue tuner, so there will be little difference between them. The Model 10 uses the digital tuner. Both types offer excellent reception. Your choice really comes down to what features you require.
Yes. However, in order to convert the low-volume and equalised phono level into the standard-volume line level, you will need a phono preamplifier. Phono preamplifiers are available at most electronics stores.
Yes. Just make sure that you connect the positive and negative terminals of the battery to the correct terminals on your Tivoli Audio product. Appropriate connectors are available at electronics parts stores. All Tivoli Audio products with a 12 Volt DC input use the centre pin for the positive connection from your battery.

At this time, the Tivoli Audio app is only optimized for phone and tablet use. However, this may change in the future. You can still connect via Bluetooth or using the Auxiliary port.
Henry Kloss is one of the all-time big names in audio design and innovation. His stylistic traditions can be seen in a lot of our radios.
Henry was one of the owners of Tivoli Audio, and he never licensed his name. If one of our products has his name on it, he was most definitely involved in its design.
Specifications alone are not a measure of how an audio product sounds. The best way to determine whether or not you like the sound of our radios, and whether they receive the stations you enjoy, is to try them. Find your nearest retailer to trial our products live.
Our radios are not user serviceable; please be aware that modifying your radio beyond its original design will void your warranty as well as change the performance of the unit beyond the original design.
In addition, due to our liberal warranty policy, we do not sell service manuals. If we cannot repair the unit we will replace it if it was purchased from us or any authorised Tivoli Audio dealer.
Yes. It requires a much stronger signal on the AM band than on the FM band for the amber tuning indicator to light, so it is not unusual for the light to be out when an AM station is tuned.
Our radios utilise a Gallium Arsenide Metal Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (GaAs MES-FET). Gallium is a byproduct of smelting metals, chiefly aluminium and zinc, and is actually rarer than gold. Gallium Arsenide is a superior alternative to Silicon for producing solid state chips.
This transistor is better at handling multiple strong signals than integrated circuits or bipolar transistors (used in most other radios). The Model One was the first radio to use this technology in an FM tuner.
Please note that almost all electronic devices, including cellular telephones, emit some degree of electromagnetic radiation (EMR), but there have been no scientific-based studies proving this poses a health hazard.

Warranties and Returns
We warranty our products against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship to the original owner, for a period of two years from the original date of purchase.
Proof of purchase as evidence the unit was purchased from an authorised Tivoli Audio New Zealand dealer within the warranty period may be required for warranty service. For more warranty information, please see our warranty page.
